ZIM vs BAN: In the third T20I between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in Harare, Ryal Burl of Zimbabwe struck Nasum Ahmed for 34 runs in an over.

In the third Twenty20 International against Bangladesh in Harare, Ryan Burl smacked five sixes in a 34-run over. Burl scored 34 runs in the 15th over of the innings, bowled by Nasum Ahmed, including four consecutive sixes, a four, and a six. This is tied for the second-most runs ever scored in an over in men’s T20Is.

While the next three were likewise crushed on the leg-side, the initial six vanished over long-on. With the ball bouncing once before reaching the ropes, he missed a massive one off the fifth. He made a long-off catch off the final ball to finish a magnificent over for Zimbabwe.

After hitting six sixes against Stuart Broad and Akila Dananjaya, respectively, Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard currently hold the record for the most runs scored in an over (36) in men’s T20 Internationals.

In 2020, Ross Taylor and Tim Seifert scored 34 runs in one over against Shivam Dube. With his great hitting in Harare on Tuesday, Burl tied this total.

Burl, though, also beat his own mark for the most runs scored by a Zimbabwean hitter in a single over. At a T20I in Mirpur in 2019, he had previously struck Shakib Al Hasan for 30 runs in one over. In the 16th over of the innings, Burl struck three sixes and three fours off Shakib.
