Women’s World Cup: New Zealand captain Sophie Devine hailed her team’s overall performance against India in the current ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2022 at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Thursday.

Devine praised Amelia Kerr and Amy Satterthwaite of New Zealand for their 75 and 50 runs, respectively. She went on to say that the team’s bowling assault was fantastic for not allowing the visitors to score many runs. Amelia Kerr of New Zealand shined with an all-round performance, smashing fifty and taking three wickets to assist her country beat India by 62 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur’s valiant innings of 71 runs was in vain.

“It was a complete performance. We built partnerships throughout, Amelia Kerr and Amy Satterthwaite batted beautifully. The bowling was outstanding, just didn’t give them anything at all. We’ve got variety and options with our attack and it allows us to be flexible,” said Sophie Devine in the post-match presentation.
