The media release said that he will remain with the Test team in Sri Lanka, where his initial treatment and management will continue under the direction of the team’s medical personnel.

The Pakistani pace attack, which also included Hasan Ali and Naseem Shah, was led by the 22-year-old Shaheen. He has taken 99 wickets in 25 Tests since making his debut in 2018. The match finished after a tight fifth day.

At the Galle International Stadium, Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafique blasted an unbeaten 160 to lead Pakistan’s record chase of 342 and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
