Road Safety World Series to feature Suresh Raina playing for India Legends in second edition

Suresh Raina is set to join the squad of India Legends in the second edition of the Road Safety World Series, the official Twitter handle of the league said on Tuesday.

Following Suresh Raina’s decision to retire from all forms of cricket on Tuesday, rumours about the southpaw playing in leagues throughout the world began to spread. But the batsman would be joining them, according to the Road Safety World Series.

“Hold on your nerves, we have something more for you! @ImRaina, who is also the first Indian to score a hundred in all three formats, is all set to join India Legends for the second season of the Road Safety World Series”, read the tweet.

On Monday, the tournament’s schedule was released. The Road Safety World Series has revealed its second season. Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and many other Indian cricketing greats will be competing this season.

Four cities—Kanpur, Indore, Dehradun, and Raipur—will host the competition. The second season will begin in September, while the final leg of the competition will commence in October.

India Legends and South African Legends square battle in the tournament’s opening match on September 10 in Kanpur.

There will be competition between the teams from; India, New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, and England. There will be a third-place playoff in addition to the summit match, the two semifinals, and the third-place game.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Information and Technology. And the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India all support the RSWS.

In the second edition of the RSWS, Sachin Tendulkar will captain the reigning winners India Legends. The first round will held in Kanpur, while the semifinals and championship game will held in Raipur.

Yuvraj Singh, a stylish and talented left-hander who has played crucial innings to help India win. He is also a member of the India Legend team. The team will also include legends like Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Munaf Patel, Stuart Binny, S Badrinath, Naman Ojha as a wicketkeeper, Manpreet Gony, Pragyan Ojha, Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Rajesh Pawar and Rahul Sharma.
