Ranji Trophy: Bihar batsman Sakibul Gani created history on Friday, as he became the first player to score a triple century on his first-class debut.
Gani achieved the feat while playing for Kolkata’s Jadavpur University Campus 2nd Ground in the ongoing tournament Plate Group match against Mizoram. However, with 56 fours and two sixes, the batter scored 341 runs off just 405 balls. He kept his strike rate at 84.20 percent.

Therefore, Ajinkya Rahane made a century for Mumbai against Saurashtra on Day 1 of the tournament on Thursday.
Yash Dhull, a Delhi batsman, too hit a century on his first-class debut against Tamil Nadu in Guwahati.
The tournament will split into two phases. However, the pre-Indian Premier League (IPL) phase set to take place from February 10 to March 15. Moreover, from May 30 through June 26, the post-IPL phase will take place. This season’s Ranji Trophy will include 64 matches being played across 62 days.
