IPL 2022: RCB’s Dinesh Karthik’s aim is to hit maximum possible boundaries in middle order
Karthik’s undefeated 32 off 14 deliveries in RCB’s first game against Punjab Kings helped them exceed the 200-run mark.
Dinesh Karthik who was speaking on the ‘Inside RCB’ show on Star Sports, said:
“My aim is to hit as many boundaries as I can in the middle order. It is always a challenge, but it’s an interesting one for everybody.”
“My role is to achieve whatever we can in the backend of the game and try to do whatever is required for the team, either setting a target or helping win the game. So, that is what I will be focussing on.”
After an unexpected start to the season in which the Challengers beaten by the Punjab Kings in a high-octane thriller. Faf and co. will be eager to get back on track as they face the Knights in their second match of the competition.
In the IPL opener, RCB produced some excellent batting, with Faf du Plessis leading the way with some outrageous strikes after a slow start, while Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik made vital cameos to help the Challengers reach 205 in the first innings.
Despite a massive score on cards, the Challengers lost control of the game in the second half when PBKS’ Odean Smith and Bhanuka Rajapaksa went on a rampage, destroying the RCB bowlers brutally.
