IND vs SL: India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20I on Saturday, thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s stunning fifty and Ravindra Jadeja’s 45 in 18 balls.

India also won the two-match T20I series (2-0) with one game remaining. On Sunday, the third T20I between the two teams will be played. India’s chase for 184 got off to a poor start when skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the first over. As the batter edged the ball onto the stumps, Dushmantha Chameera removed Rohit.

Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer put on a 35-run stand in the sixth over, but Lahiru Kumara removed the batter.

The innings was then carried by Shreyas and Sanju Samson, who accelerated at the ideal time to get close to the objective.

Binura Fernando took a one-handed catch to dismiss Samson in the 13th over, reducing India to 128/3.

In the second T20I, though, Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer (74) led India to a comfortable victory over Sri Lanka. In 25 balls, Jadeja and Shreyas put on a crucial 58-run stand.

Earlier, after put into bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a good start, scoring 32 runs after the powerplay completed.

Before Ravindra Jadeja dismissed opening batter Danushka Gunathilaka in the ninth over. The visitors proceeded to score runs at a rapid pace.

Sri Lanka lost two more wickets in the next couple of overs, with Harshal Patel taking his first wicket of the day.

Sri Lanka were 102/4 in the 15th over. But Pathum Nissanka and skipper Dasun Shanaka produced some powerful drives in the 19th over to push Sri Lanka over the 150-run barrier.

Shanaka hit the last two balls for six to complete the game on a strong note as Sri Lanka achieved 183 runs in the allowed 20 overs.
