IND vs SL: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became the sixth cricketer to score 150 runs and take five wickets in the same Test on Sunday.
On Day 3 of the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka, Jadeja achieved the feat by taking five wickets in the first innings. Earlier in the series, the left-handed batter hit an unbeaten 175 to help India reach a 450-plus total against Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Vinoo Mankad, Denis Atkinson, Polly Umrigar, Gary Sobers and Mushtaq Mohammad had achieved the feat.
Earlier in the day, when Day 3 resumed at 138/4 in the first innings. Overnight batsmen Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka added 53 runs to the total, pushing Nissanka above his half-century mark. In the 58th over, India finally got the breakthrough as Jasprit Bumrah beat Asalanka (29).
Ravindra Jadeja banished Niroshan Dickwella (2) to the pavilion. After he failed to impress with the bat, scoring only 2 runs. Suranga Lakmal (0) dismissed in the same over, reducing Sri Lanka to 164/7.
Sri Lanka was eventually bowled out for 174, given India a 400-run lead, and the hosts forced the follow-on.
