IND vs SL: Jay Shah congratulated Virat Kohli on playing his 100th Test

IND vs SL: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah congratulated batsman Virat Kohli on playing his 100th Test match on Friday.

Kohli will play his 100th Test match on Friday in the two-match series against Sri Lanka in Mohali, Punjab.

“His journey has been a union of emotion, passion, dedication and determination. To the man who redefined Test cricket and infused it with fresh life, congratulations @imVkohli on this landmark Test. Let’s come together and celebrate #VK100,” tweeted Jay Shah.

Kohli was supposed to play his 100th Test during the South Africa series earlier this year. But fate has it that he will do so in India. In front of a half-capacity crowd at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

The former India captain will now join the ranks of legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, and others who have played 100 Tests or more for the country.

Meanwhile, in the first round of the two-match series against Sri Lanka on Friday, India won the toss and elected to bat.
