IND vs SA: The India team for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa was announced by BCCI on Monday. Later this month, India will host South Africa for a T20I series. A three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series will be played during South Africa’s tour of India in 2022.

The home series against South Africa comprises three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs to played from September 28 to October 11.

India squad for South Africa T20Is: Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohd. Shami, Harshal Patel, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah.

The team for ODIs against Proteas not announced yet.

Meanwhile, South Africa have announced their squad for the T20I series against India. Temba Bavuma will serve as the team’s captain. Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Quinton de Kock are a few key batters for South Africa in the series.

The pace attack will be led by Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Lungi Ngidi. Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj are the spinner options for the team. India and South Africa last played a T20I series earlier in June 2022.

During the five-match T20I series, South Africa defeated India in the first two games. India later turned things around by winning the following two games. The series ended in a 2-2 tie after the fifth T20I washed out due to rain.

There have been 20 T20Is played between India and South Africa in head-to-head matches in the shortest format. India has won 11 games while South Africa has won 8 games. 1 match ended with no result. India has lost 5 games and won 3 T20Is against South Africa when playing at home.
