At Emirates Old Trafford, England’s capacity for recovery will be put to the test as they attempt to tie the Proteas in their three-match Test series.
Ben Stokes’ side suffered an innings defeat inside three days at Lord’s in the series opener.

ODIs between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw prior to this. Due to rain, the final game in the series was called off before it could end.
