BCCI Central Contracts: Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara demoted from Grade A to B

BCCI Central Contracts: In the new central contracts list, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lowered the grade of veteran batsmen Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara.

The BCCI has four categories: A+, which pays Rs 7 crore per year. A, B, and C, which pay Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore, and Rs 1 crore per year, respectively. After the BCCI examined their yearlong performance, Rahane and Pujara, who were in Grade A, have been demoted to Grade B. Because both hitters are now out of form. The BCCI has decided to leave them out of the next Sri Lanka Test series at home.

“BCCI decreases Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara‘s grades (from Grade A to B) after reviewing their yearly performance. Wriddhiman Saha also dropped from his current grade (from Grade B to C). Due to the same reason,” BCCI officials told ANI.

Wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha has also been demoted from group B to group C.
