Asia Cup 2022: India captain Rohit Sharma on Wednesday became the first player to score 3500 runs in T20I history.

In the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 match against Hong Kong, the star Indian batter achieved this milestone. In the first over of the contest, Rohit took a run off of Haroon Arshad to complete the feat. Before the game began, Rohit had scored 3499 runs; he now has 3500 runs.

Martin Guptill of New Zealand has scored 3497 runs, and Virat Kohli is ranked third with 3,343 runs.

The Indian captain currently has the most runs scored in the game’s shortest format.

The 34-year-old is the first Indian to play in seven Asia Cup series after appearing in every edition from 2008 of the competition.
Rohit has scored 895 runs at an average of 40.68 in 27 innings at the Asia Cup.

Talking about the match, Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan chose to bowl first against India after winning the toss. The fourth game of the T20 Asia Cup currently played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
