Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan cricket team registered their biggest victory by runs in T20I cricket on Friday.
This feat was achieved by the third-ranked T20Is side in the world during their Group A match versus Hong Kong during the currently taking place Asia Cup 2022. Pakistan’s largest T20I victory in terms of runs was a 155-run victory. Pakistan had defeated Hong Kong by just 38 runs after scoring 193/2 in their first innings.
In April 2018, they trounced West Indies by 143 runs, which was their previous largest victory by runs. After setting them a target of 204 runs, they had only managed to bundle them out for 60 runs.
Moreover, this is the second-largest margin of victory in T20I cricket by runs by an active member of the ICC. Sri Lanka still holds the record after defeating Kenya by 172 runs in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup. At that time, Sri Lanka had dismissed Kenya for just 88 runs after scoring 260/6 on the board.
